$15,000 for an Xbox 360?!

And here I thought this was bad. It’s nothing compared to this! A winning bidder on eBay is willing to pay a whopping $15,099.00 for a new Xbox 360 Core edition. Insane much?
I wish I had that kind of money!

Interestingly, when you click on the buyer profile, he apparently bid on -and won- another auction for an xbox 360. And got negative feedback for it. I’d definitely like to see whether he will actually pay for the system at that price.

[…] The game line-up pretty much guaranteed failure in Japan. Just because the rest of the world is paying insane amounts of money for the console due to shortages, doesn’t mean the Japanese are going to pay good money to buy something that isn’t designed to appeal to them in the first place. Microsoft really dropped the ball with that one. They went in knowing that PlayStation has dominance in that part of the world, and they did nothing but assume that mere lack of competition would make people flock to their baby. A console is useless without games to play on it. […]

[…] If you want one really badly, there is always eBay, which - like last year with the Xbox 360 - is profiting left and right from desperate gamers. In fact, a PS3 console actually sold for $2,750 which is … well, I was going to say mind-boggling but going by the Xbox 360 craze of days-gone-by isn’t at all surprising. […]
