Sony has moved rather quickly to address the issues concerning its beautiful PS3. Namely, the problem concerning playability of PS2 games on the new console.
Online software upgrades will be released to address these issues, and PS3 consumers should rest easy knowing that Sony is on the job.

Kaz Hirai, president and chief executive of Sony Computer [...]

Nintendo Announces DVD-Enabled Wii

I guess Nintendo has decided to shoot itself in the foot, or maybe they were worried that the Wii would sell too much and wanted to make sure that didn’t happen.
Either way, they’ve just announced that the DVD-enabled version of the Wii will be released in 2007.

Speaking to GameDaily Biz, Nintendo US spokesman Matt Atwood [...]

PlayStation 3 Issues: Some Older Games Won’t Play

Sony Corp. has acknowledged that the PS3 has some unfortunate issues. Namely that about 200 PS2 games won’t actually play on the new console.
Japanese consumers have been encountering these problems first-hand. In some cases, features for the older games don’t work, and in other cases, the games don’t play at all.

“There are always sorts of [...]

GameStop’s $699 Wii Bundle

Not everyone rush at once, but GameStop/EB are offering a Wii bundle that will set you back ONLY $699.
Considering the Wii is going for $250, I’m curious what will come in this terribly expensive bundle. Are they sticking an Xbox 360 in there?

Can You Tell A Girl Player From A Male One?

A lot of articles have spawned on the Internet over the years about female avatars generally being males. In my experience this is sometimes true, but not always.
Some people would say “what does it matter?” And I would agree. It doesn’t really. I do find some people actually care, though.
The other day I was reading [...]

What Is A Gamer?

As an addendum to my “male gamers are whiny bitches” post, let me first be clear that I meant that in sarcasm. I don’t actually believe that all gamers (male or female) are any one thing, which is why I was so annoyed by some of the comments I read in the Kotaku post (the [...]

Channel Surfing

Why not start our journey, as Alice did through Wonderland, with an encounter with a curiously coloured, disturbingly chilling cat. No, not the Cheshire in this case, but rather Leora experimenting with The Sims 2 Pets expansion pack. Click here if you dare and enter the rabbit hole that is b5media’s video game [...]

Comrade Gets Caught In The Crossfire

Squabble, squabble, copyright, squabble, squabble.
As all social gatherings are bound to devolve to given the right mix of money, opinion and greed, even those involving in-game chat and social networking programs can’t seem to get along.
XFire, that darling program that allows you to see which of your gaming friends is online as well as what [...]

Game On Exhibition in London

London is the place to be, I’m growing more and more convinced of that fact. Aside from the cool accents, Brits get to hold the Game On exhibition at the London Science Museum, which is where I’d like to be at this moment.
“Explore the history, technology and culture of computer games in this new special [...]
