There IS Such A Thing As A Free Lunch

The old physicist who coined the energy-related term: “there’s no such thing as a free lunch” obviously hasn’t heard of a fantastic game called Free Rice, where every question gives you the opportunity to help out those less fortunate through a certified, well-known charity.
Sponsored by some big guns in a variety of industries (Toshiba, Macys, […]

Girls In Da Hood?

Apparently we, the lady gamers out there, are missing a key element of the gaming experience; one so vital and essential to our very being that the mere lack of it is crushing out will to live….we don’t have a girly version of Grand Theft Auto. *gasp* I know, the thought is paralyzing.Do we get […]

Habbo Furniture Heist Foiled By Dutch Authorities

I have no idea why this isn’t headline BBC news…
Apparently the police force in Amsterdam has an eye on the online realm, because they’re looking to bring theft charges against the user of an account accused of scamming other Habbo Hotel residents out of their hard-earned furniture items.
The alleged offender conned fellow players out of […]

WoW Continues Plan of World Domination

The tireless plod towards complete and utter ownership of humankind continues on strong for Blizzard and their brainwashing software, World of Warcraft. Account numbers continue to rise despite concerns that the game will deplete its stock of humanoid hosts before the goal of insidious, omnipotent control is reached. An astounding 300,000 more souls have been […]

Willis & Thornton: Dead Men?

Oh wow…while we’re on the subject of video game movies, here’s another one. The bloody game hasn’t even been released a full week yet and already they’re slotting in the actors to play the lead roles in a film adaptation! Have they no shame??
Apparently not. It looks like Lionsgate Films is […]

Spike Keeps Up His Fanged Image

It looks like all retired series actors are taking to video game related roles these days. First Counsellor Troy in Mass Effect and now, crawling from the crypts of Sunnydale, is Buffy’s own blonde bombshell vamp companion: Spike.
I know, I know, it’s not really video games, but I pass this one up. […]

Euro PS3 Ad A Winner

It’s not often, out of all the video game ads out there, that one is actually interesting enough as an entity distinct from the platform it’s promoting, to merit mention. This PS3 ad from Europe is phenomenally neat, blending Cirque du Soleil, the 1940’s, and the distant future into a suprisingly cohesive unit. […]

Test Your Nintendo Knowledge

Bit of a time-waster, but it’s Wednesday, and what better do we have to do at work than to cling desperately to the shadows of our youth before cubicles, before Harold the file clerk who insists on stealing the last cup of coffee in every single pot…
MentalFloss.com, otherwise known as the crack of online random […]

Where’s Worf? Sirtis Sneaks Into Mass Effect

Often times in movies we experience the brain-wracking glimpse of a face that we should know, but whose owner’s name escapes us. Games haven’t quite reached the point where digital renderings (particularly facial eccentricities) are able to elicit similar reactions, but what they do have is an astounding cast of voice actors ranging from […]
