A Little Wine With Your Game Ma’am?
Oh hells yes! Count me in on this one. Square Enix is generating quite a bit of buzz, not only in the media, but in the players of one of its upcoming titles Wine no Hajimekata. For those of you with a DS system and a yearning to learn more about the finer points of wine and wine tasting, this new title (oddly not the only wine game for the DS) just may be for you. Couple that with the fact that Squeenix is tossing in a bottle of wine with the game package and you’ll have some very happy people in Japan very soon.
One thousand limited edition sets of the game will be producing, including a bottle of Dourthe No. 1 as the instructional wine of choice. Being a prominent, common Bordeaux wine, this ain’t too shabby a start in the wine world. Apparently white drinkers are S.O.L. as no mention of a white companion set is made.
Think it’ll ever hit the markets in North America? Not on your life. With the hyper-restrictive liquor laws and generally repressive attitudes towards alcohol of any kind, it would take Hannibal and his herd of elephants to even get it close to retail stores. Not like you’d ever get your hands on the limited edition copy…they’re only making a thousand of them. Blast!
