A World Of My Own: Download Video Games
Virgin Games and Game Domain International have paired up to create A World of My Own, a project they hope will fascilitate the way video games are distributed online. The service promises to provide speedy downloads, allowing customers to play within minutes of purchase.
They like to think of it as the iTunes for video games, and it looks like it might prove to be just that if they do things correctly.
AWOMO will be hitting the Internets later on in 2007.
As a big fan of iTunes for music and TV show purchasing, I can honestly say I hope they do a good job of setting this up. The service will be offered internationally, which makes things even better.
