Army of Two Coming to PS3 and Xbox 360
Electronic Arts unveiled their new game, Army of Two, recently. It will be available for PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime in 2007, and will make use of Xbox Live and the PlayStation’s equivalent service.
The premise for Army of Two is so original that EA felt the need to keep it “top secret” for a year. Essentially, you shoot stuff with a buddy (either real or AI). Oooh and aaah.
You’re not alone soldier, not anymore. EA today unveiled details of the action title that has been kept top secret for the past year. Developed at EA’s boutique production house in Montréal, Canada, the new, original intellectual property will redefine strategic TWO man cooperative play when it launches on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox360™ videogame system from Microsoft in 2007.
ARMY OF TWO™ will throw gamers into hot spots ripped from current day headlines where they will utilize unique TWO man strategies and tactics while seamlessly transitioning between playing with intelligent Partner AI (PAI) and a live player. When one man is not enough, it will take an army of two to fight through war, political turmoil and a conspiracy so vast it threatens the entire world.
Did you get that? It’s TWO!
TWO!
Whatever will the come up with next? THREE?!
Oh noes, my mind cannot compute such futuristic envisioning.
Erin, Matt, you two like to shoot stuff, are you excited?

The concept? Yes. The setting/storyline? Eh..
Co-op is always a blast. It’s what made Halo so fun. There aren’t enough games that take advantage of being able to play with a friend cooperatively through a campaign storyline and it’s nice to see a game being built ground up with that feature in mind. However, it’s a console game and I don’t personally own a 360 and will probably not get a PS3 either. I might pick up one sometime down the road. No idea. (I’m a PC guy)
It depends on how good it is. Maybe I can convince the boss to pick up a copy and see how it plays with co-workers. Assuming you can play it split screen. Hopefully it’s not just a live service feature.
