Atari Sales Continue to Drop

The Atari company’s sales have been on a steep decline for a while now, and it looks as if they’re still dropping. The company reported a staggering 77% drop in sales, with cash reserves down from $5.8 million (at the end of last quarter) to $2.5 million. Is the company on its way out? Hopefully not yet.
For 2006, Atari has some potentially popular titles in its repertoire, including: DragonBall Z, D&D Online, The Matrix: Path of Neo, Driver: Parallel Lines, Tycoon Ctiy: NY, Totally Spies, Hasbro 4-Pack for NDS, and more. So, I’m sure the company has its hopes aimed at the horizon.
Bruno Bonnell, boss extraordinaire, had this to say on the subject:
“Interactive entertainment continues to be one of the fastest growing segments in the entertainment industry. The next generation of consoles from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are just the beginning of things to come, and we intend to deliver top-tier titles from franchises such as Alone In The Dark, Test Drive and others. Atari’s strategy remains unchanged - we are committed to providing compelling entertainment to mass audiences whenever, however and wherever they want it.”
Hopefully we won’t be seeing Atari closing shop anytime soon, but maybe it would help to pick up a few Atari-developed games for Christmas.

The Witcher, which I bought, has been installed and uninstalled three times since I purchased it.
I try to like and get into the game but just can’t.
It’s just another mediocre pc game that will never be played beyond the second act, left to collect dust for a few months, then into the trash bin.
This years PC game titals have been dismal at best, and I must include my biggest disappointment, COD4.
COD4 is a sophmoric dumbed down version of the first COD and it’s expansion COD United Offensive, only sadly taking place in the modern era/ like I don’t get enough of that on the nightly news.
I’ve since switched to PS3 for my gaming and will never look back. No more ctd’s, or patches or poorly coded software.
Plus I get to play on a 56in HD TV with 5.1 surround sound. MUCH cooler than PC.
Now what to do with my 50+ colection of PC games?
