Calling All Aspiring Game Journalists

Have you been slaving away on a personal gaming blog for eons without gaining respect or recognition? Do you think you’re the missing cog in the ramshackle machinery of game journalism? Have you got what it takes to defeat all challengers to claim the grand prize?
FiringSquad.com and Intel have got the contest for you.
The Editors Challenge pits gung-ho writers against each other in single elimination format. Judged for the content and quality of their articles by the staff and readers of FiringSquad.com, writers can battle it out for cash and prizes. The ‘grand finalist’, as they call the winner, lands themselves $1500 cash, an Intel Core2 Duo Extreme Processor and a writing contract with FiringSquad.com.
To be eligible to win, you must be 18+ years old to claim prizes (though 13-18 folks can participate for fun), submit English-language pieces for judging, sign up for a free FiringSquad.com account, and be a member of the human species.
The first preliminary round starts today (Feb. 7th) and runs until the 14th of the month, with a second preliminary round from the 21st to the 28th. Thirty contestants total from these two rounds will advance, with the battles finally culminating in a champion on May 1st.
A separate round of qualification is available for video journalists, so if you’re more comfortable in front of the camera than behind the pen, give it your best shot. There is a different timeline and requirements for the video journalism contest, so be sure to read up before you get into the action.
