Castlevania Exclusively for Xbox 360?
In a recent interview with Game Informer, Castlevania creator, Koji Igarashi, hinted that the next installment in the Castlevania series might be an Xbox 360 exclusive (with a 2D version for the DS).
“I will continue to use 2D for the DS version, but I’m still trying to figure out which console to do the home console versions.
“I think the Xbox 360 would be the best platform for the U.S. market… The U.S. market is the biggest market for the Castlevania series, so I will give the first priority to the U.S. market.”
Igarashi added, “The PS3 isn’t doing well everywhere in the world,” further suggesting that Microsoft’s 360 might be the better fit for U.S. audiences.
What about the Wii? I think that’d be a great console for a Castlevania game. Guess we’ll see. It doesn’t sound as if any of this is set in stone and minds have been known to change very often in this industry.
I hope it stretches beyond the realm of the 360, personally. I have fond memories of the Castlevania games. I’d love to try it with my Wiimote.
