Casual Games: COLOR box

by Erin on May 19th, 2006

colorbox.JPGIt’s Friday, which is really secret code for “wasting time at work until the weekend day”. For me, this used to mean going to a casual gaming site and not peeling my eyes away from a game of Rocket Mania until the stripes on the rockets began to blur and the little dragon actually started talking to me in my head.

Now I have a new and frightening addiction to a little web game called COLORbox. It’s far from fancy, there are no cutesy characters on little quests, but its simplicity is also one of the reasons that I enjoy it. Anyone who has taken some art/graphic design/programming is likely familiar with the additive colour system. COLORbox combines color theory with a sort of Tetris-like gameplay in order to create a matching game where the goal is to create the color white.

A pure time waster in that it never ends…you can just keep playing indefinitely, reaching scores of enormous size and losing a lot of productive work time.
