According to a simulation run by EA, the LA Lakers will defeat the Boston Celtics in seven games to clean victory in the NBA Finals 2008. Although the game isn’t available until October of this year, the developers took the opportunity to have some fun with it and simmed the series in their spare time.
Laker […]

John Nilsson had a dream: a more immersive gaming experience for everyday folks like you and me. One of the limiting factors currently affecting gameplay was the tiny field and angle of vision allowed by the conventional flatscreen monitor. So, using his noggin, he devised the J-Dome, a 180-degree screen that you set up in […]

So back in February, I pointed out that Mastiff had nabbed the rights to Major League Eating. It was kind of half in jest, and I fully expected that this would be one of those licensing ventures that just never bothered to get into the development phase. Well I’ll be darned, I was wrong.

It seems fitting that the hippest tech toy on the market at the moment and the game touted as the most complex, innovative title in years get together. Think of it as an agglomeration of trendy, or a powerhouse consumer electronics union that will eventually enslave humanity…
What the hell am I talking about? Apple’s iPhone […]

In somewhat terrifying news, the neuro-engineering company Emotiv has created a headset that reads brain signals and translates them into video game controls.

Talk about wringing every last penny out of a brand that’s treated you well…yet another version of the enormously popular Sims series is due for release.
This time, don’t expect roughly realistically proportioned pseudo-3D cardboard cutouts…oh no. This time all semblence of reality has been removed and players will have the joy of turning their […]

Many Sims fans are shaking their fists at the evil overlords at Electronic Arts, torn, it seems, between being happy that after a four year drought, a new Sims game will be hitting the shelves, but irked that the original creators of the series, Maxis, won’t be the developer.
Maxis is apparently too busy working on […]

I admit that I loved History class all through school. I’m a nerd like that and I’m comfortable in my nerdiness. Some folks though, just don’t care to learn history, and with the sometimes dry, dull and frankly lifeless details we’re expected to learn and rejoice at remembering, it’s not surprising. Why […]
