Certified Game Tester
Seems like you can get certified for, and be certifiably…well, anything these days. Might as well add game testing to the exponentially expanding list of activities.
A UK initiative kickstarted by NCSoft Europe, The City College Brighton, PartnerTrans and Skillset is looking to lend a little structure to the world of video game testing, by developing an Apprenticeship in Quality Assurance and Games Production.
Four apprentices were accepted into the pilot program, three of whom are now engaged in a year long co-op placement at NCSoft, with educational training being provided by The City College Brighton.
The developers are hoping that other gaming studios will become involved in the program, and expanded enrollment in future years will be possible with increased interest.
