Climate Challenge Video Game Coming to BBC

The BBC will be launching a web-based video game called Climate Challenge come January 16th (a good alternative for those not involved in The Burning Crusade launch on the same day…) The game, developed by Red Redemption Ltd in cooperation with Oxford University’s Centre for the Environment aims to educate and entertain at the same time.
The game gives players the task of protecting the environment between the years of 2000 to 2100. The choices made by the players impact the outcome of the atmosphere and climate in this virtual Earth.
Players will have to juggle the demands of running a country, delivering food, water and clean energy and, of course, trying to save the planet from getting all hot and bothered. Make the wrong choices and you can even get voted out of power, not that this has happened so far in the real world.
The game launches on the BBC’s Science and Nature website next Tuesday.
