Eidos: Peuvent-Ils Subjuguer Quebec?
The piracy concerns don’t seem to be stopping major development studios from setting up shop in the Great White North mind you. Eidos Interactive, creators of Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, and Hitman, have made the leap over the Atlantic from their UK headquarters in order to open up a development facility in Montreal, PQ.
Great news for a city that already hosts Electronic Arts, JamDat, GameLoft, and Ubisoft. The goal is to employ 350 folks, hopefully local, within three years of opening, aided by the province’s very developer-friendly tax incentives. The Quebecois studio will be developing several games for the new consoles and also encompass a testing facility.
