Fight Breaks Out Over Video Game

First it’s girls having seizures, and now it’s boys fighting over remote controllers. Who said anything about video games being a bad thing? Ha!
So here’s the latest thing parents against video games can add to their long list of reasons why video games are the spawns of Satan.
A fight over a video game put a 13-year-old boy in the hospital and a 12-year-old in police custody.
Two 13-year-old boys and a 12-year-old were playing a game in the bedroom of a home at 505 Woodland Terrace just before 7 Sunday night, police said.
The three had agreed to take turns, but one of the teens apparently did not follow the rules, according to Lt. Jose Ruiz. “It appears the (13-year-old) failed to relinquish his controller to the (12-year-old) and an altercation followed.”
None of the boys’ names is being released due to their ages.
According to statements the teens gave police, the 13-year-old fell with his back to the 12-year-old. The younger boy then pulled out a silver box cutter.
The other 13-year-old, who lives in the home, told police the younger boy stabbed the victim then pulled the blade across the boy’s back, Ruiz said. The teen also sustained a puncture wound to his left armpit.
Ouch.
The boy was taken to the hospital, but has since been released.
Games causing violence? Nah!
These are the people who ruin it for the rest of us. Any second now my mom is going to call me and tell me I’m not allowed to game anymore.
Stupid boys!

Kids have been fighting over things for a long time. Toys. Food. Attention. So kids fighting over taking turns in a game? Nothing new. Heck, my siblings and I have argued over games before. While I did not take a blade to either of them (that worries me most about this story) we did argue, maybe some pushing..some shoving. Name calling at the very least. But what can you expect?
I’m just sad people are going to focus on what they were doing instead of one of the boys having issues to where he’s gonna start slicing people up when things don’t quite go his way.
I’d be interested in knowing what game they were playing. Maybe we can link it to seizure girl’s incident and get a petition to stop crappy GTA clones starring rappers who are just “keeping it real”
y0.
My homies.
w0rd.
Peace out.

Hey Matt - you’re a l337 rapper! :) and I agree with you that the focus is going to be on what they were doing - take the title of this entry for starters…
They won’t relese the names but will give out the address? WTF?
My brother and I fought over everything, but the worst it came to was some fistycuffs (oh and there was that one dart thowing episode, but don’t tell my parents ok ;) ).

But Cal… a fight did break out over a video game, which is why I titled it thusly. ;)
I agree, kids fight all of the time. I used to take (plastic) bats and beat the crap out of my best friend. But I never put him in the hospital :)

I blame CS, and every other FPS and GTA like game out there. The RP d00d has spoken :P

Ac7ually, d1dn’t th f1ght br3ak 0ut 0v3r n0t tak1ng turn5? (man that stuff’s hard to do…)
The video game was the innocent party here people ;)
The kids could have been down the park playing cricket and one of them wouldn’t give up the bat when his turn was up, then someone would have got a bat over the head, another the ball thrown at their back…
