French Saint To Invade Tokyo
I don’t know if it was Leelee Sobieski’s brooding wails, Milla Jovovich’s psychotically awful presentation, or the incomprehensibly smug nature of the french catholic schoolgirls at the aptly named school in my hometown, but the topic of Jeanne d’Arc has always been one of personal interest. Joan of Arc, to us Engrish speakers, was country girl turned messenger of god turned heroine of state turned witch turned crispy biscuit at the stake in 1431 at the tender age of nineteen.
In recent wanderings around IGN looking for something completely unrelated, I came across a listing for a Japanese RPG due to hit the PSP at the end of this year. Based loosely on the life story of the french saint, Jeanne d’Arc pits 17-year old Jeanne against demons, english and the unknown in a turn-based 3D RPG adventure.
Everything on the site is in Japanese, obviously hampering my abilities to delve much more into this, but I’m intrigued. I may even force myself to sit through another viewing of The Messenger. May.
