Gizmondo Exec Flips Million Dollar Ferrari
You may not have heard, but Gizmondo, the ill-fated little handheld, has basically been given the boot by the banks and all of the company’s assets are currently in the process of being liquidated. Their downfall lay not in the Gizmondo itself, but in the tendency for the company executives to treat themselves to all sorts of perks at the expense of the company as a whole.
Former executive Stefan Erikson, who left the company following allegations that he was connected to the Swedish mafia, was in the news again yesterday following a street racing car accident in Malibu involving his 2003 Ferrari Enzo. When you consider that the car is worth a cool $1 million on its own, it’s not really all that hard to see what may have been the demise of the Gizmondo.
Erikson, in what is fast becoming a typically shady response for Gizmondo employees, accepted no blame for the accident, instead saying that he was a passenger in the car and the driver was some German guy namd Dietrich, who fled the scene. Umm hmm.

Gah. The mere tires on that car alone are worth more than what some people make in a year.

The question then is: what was Stephan doing with Deitrich that caused the car to flip?
