Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix Site Live

by Erin on June 5th, 2007

That’s right all you wand waving maniacs! EA has launched the official site of their upcoming game, chronicling the adventures of everyone’s favourite boy wizard from the fifth book: Order of the Phoenix.

EA claims that the site is “highly interactive” and that visitors will have the ability to “explore various rooms in Hogwarts (Herbology, Room of Requirement), learn and cast spells, unlock wallpapers, view previously released screenshots and videos, learn about specific platform features and more”.

All in all a potentially cool, but currently lacklustre site. Currently only one of four spells is available to learn, only two rooms are visitable from the grand staircase screen, and much of the information is presented in a very traditional click-image-area-and-up-pops-a-textbox sort of way. In short, nothing too exciting at this point.

There was a lot of good fun to be had at the old Goblet of Fire site, and I do hope that as the game evolves, so too will the Order of the Phoenix website. Potterites need their fix somehow.
