“I Knew Putting The Internet In The Basement Was A Bad Idea!”
Despite the humour, pop gaming references and general giggle worthiness of this short animation, I think it very cleverly and succinctly displays the lack of understanding and overall paranoia that is enveloping the games industry at the moment. Ignorance breeds a sort of blinded crusading righteousness that is disgusting no matter what the topic at hand.
On a lighter note, the short hits the generation gap right on the head, discussing the evils of the internet and the deadly scourge that is the Commodore 64. The bit at 1:15 in particular had me in stitches because really…who hasn’t had that experience with their parents.
And at 1:50
“What is this picture? Is it a man or a woman?”
“It’s Final Fantasy!”
“Are you guys in a suicide cult? Is my son going to kill himself?”
Well done to the chaps at For Tax Reasons!
