Illegal Halo 3 Play Nets Ban Until 9999
Wow, I honestly don’t know of a company with a ban-bat quite this long.
Two Xbox Live! gamers wiggled their way into Halo 3’s latest phase, code-named Epsilon, for a little bit of fun and a sneak peek at the most anticipated game of the year. Little did SCAR and dak think that their poking around would land them in a heap of hot water.
Their gamertags, those traitorous things, gave away their location and Microsoft and Bungie have slammed both gamers’ Live! accounts with a ban lasting until, no joke, December 31st, 9999. Both complained on the official Xbox forums about their troubles, suggesting innocent updates as the cause of their misfortune and blaming the Microsoft ban bot for errors in judgment, before it dawned on the poor things that perhaps their little romp through Halo-land was the cause of the demise.
Ouch.
