I’m a girl, and I have the card to prove it!

So, I’ve been in France for about three (or is it four?) weeks now, and I’ve hit pretty much every gaming store in downtown Lyon. My very favorite is called Addon, and the reason it’s my favorite is quite simple: they speak English to me! But besides that, the store itself is great. Two floors of games makes for a very happy gamer girl.
But here’s something else: in an effort to encourage those of the female gender to buy games, they offer a discount card to girls. If you’re female, you get 10% off, provided you have their spiffy card. I find this both interesting and strange. Is it fair to be rewarded simply for being a woman in a primarily male-dominated arena?
Personally, I love the discount, if only because the $ to € conversion is not my friend, and games are my precioussss…es. But, I like to promote equality of the genders.
So to be fair, what should guys get a discount on?

I know the card is meant for girls, but does it have to be pink and sparkly? It’s a great idea though, congrats to them for thinking it up.

[...] If only I’d known this was coming out so soon, I would’ve waited. Alas, I went out and bought Fable for the Xbox a few weeks ago (using my 10% off, girly discount, of course), and now I’ll have to wait on the enhanced PC version: Fable: The Lost Chapters. That’s somewhat disappointing since the PC version comes with expanded content, greater customization, new quests, and enhanced graphics, and I’m a sucker for bigger and better. Oh well, it’s my own fault for not being more on top of the game (haha, on top of the…) [...]
