Infected Website Launches

by Ingrid on October 13th, 2005

By ‘Infected website launches’ I don’t mean that there’s now a website out there that will contaminate your files and turn your hard drive into a gadget-eating zombie (though if you know of such a site, please let me know).

Infected is actually a new game for the PSP by Majesco Entertainment Company and developer Planet Moon Studios. The game, which is scheduled for a November 15th release, had its official website launch yesterday, which means that you can now go behold its greatness.

Oddly reminiscent of the movie 28 Days Later, the website describes the story as follows:

It’s Christmas time in New York , and you are a cop, working for the New York Biohazard Team. And guess what? A raging virus has spread through the city, turning everyone into blood-crazed, flesh-hungry zombies. And guess what else? YOU are the last line of defense.

This Christmas is going to suck.

While normal New Yorkers either hide in fear, or get their faces ripped off by Infected zombies, you are out there working overtime. Armed with some brutal weaponry, and a special viral gun, you’ve got to blast, chum, and burn your way through the burroughs, killing everything that moves.

This holiday season, paint the town red… with blood.

So, essentially, you get to shoot zombies and stuff.

Features of potential interest:

- 3rd person shooter
- Single player or Multiplayer (up to 8, I do believe)
- Big guns
- Special SlipKnot characters (…?)

Which reminds me, there’s a soundtrack. Guess who’s on it? Yes, that’s right, SlipKnot.

I’m sure SlipKnot fans everywhere are rejoicing.

SlipKnot + Zombies + Big Guns = Squee! *

*I’m sure SlipKnot fans don’t squee. They probably do something a lot cooler like [insert appropriate reaction here]

1 opinion for Infected Website Launches

They would probably throw the horns. That’s the popular metal thing to do.

I had a friend telling me about this. What happens, if you get infected to be a zombie, and you infect someone else, and that person goes on to infect another, you get points for all of that. It keeps a running score of the people you’ve infected and whom they have infected. Quite neat.
