Intel Says Wallhacks Be Gone!
Hate wall hacks? Think that aimbots are the lamest excuse for programming ever? Yeah, me too. I always wonder how people using cheats ever derive satisfaction from playing, when they know that their results are not because of their own talent.
Intel has something coming down the pipes that could help to swing the balance back towards honesty in online PC gaming. The “anti-cheat technology”, which could be built into gaming computers and detect common cheats, was highlighted at Research @ Intel Day. Cheats apparently send data to servers in wonky patterns that the prototype Intel technology can detect. It would then notify the server of the cheat, and possibly kick/suspend/embarrass the offending player.
Great idea and one that I wholeheartedly support. I do wonder though, how long it would take for some clever soul to beat the system.
