Kojima Cans The New E3
Everyone was kind of waiting around, as much to see how the new format for the largest gaming convention in our humble hemisphere would turn out, as to see what enticing details would be revealed. Would the split and splice of the new conference, which was alternatively criticized and lauded for its excesses, be well-received?
One man amongst the developers who chose to attend the event had the guts to voice exactly what he thought about the rearrangement. Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima pulled no punches in saying that he missed the “festival” feel of the E3 show, and the celebration of gaming entertainment. This new way of doing things was an unequivocal failure in his opinion and he lamented the loss by calling for a return to the glitz and glamor of traditional E3 extravaganzas.
Not so hot for a conference when one of the stars of the show considers the entire affair a waste of time.
