Kotaku, Fake-Girl Gamers, and Overreacting

So, a little while ago, I was going through my morning routine (checking on the bodies in the basement, thinking about coffee, fondling the Xbox controllers, checking on Play-Girlz to see if Erin posted anything over the weekend so I could proceed to feel guilty for being a lazy bum, etc.) when I saw an incoming link from Kotaku, from a post entitled, “Fake Girl-Gamer Sites.” Gasp! I immediately thought, “Why would Play-Girlz be mentioned on a post about fake girl gamer sites?!” I thought, “It can’t be…” and immediately went to check out the link.

Only, my Internet chose to die at the precise moment my mouse clicked the link, which meant only one thing: Reboot.

Bah!

While my computer rebooted, I grew angrier and angrier with Kotaku. How dare they say that we’re a fake girl-gamer site. Why, what other girl gamers cry over not having an Xbox 360 and post pictures of themselves in star-studded pajamas as a result of their grief? What other girl gamer site features mystery boxes that result in jealousy-driven affairs with game controllers? So then, why, HOW, could Kotaku treat us so unkindly? Do they hate us? Is it our hair?

Well, I was quite ready to give them a piece of my Puerto Rican mind (in English, Spanish AND really bad French) when I finally got to the site and realized … they weren’t talking about us at all. It’s merely that Erin had left a comment and someone had clicked on her name, bringing them right back into our evil clutches of doom here.

Much relief ensued. My love for Kotaku remains unscathed.

Oh and here’s what they wanted to tell you about those pesky fake girl-gamer sites.

This is what happens when I try to do anything before I’ve had my coffee.
