KOTOR III In the Works From Bioware
Buck up Star Wars fans, you’re about to get another crack at a video game. Bioware long heralded “secret project” (ie. Zzzzz…) has finally been confirmed as the third installment to the Knights of the Old Republic series. With SOE and LucasArts’ Star Wars Galaxies still a “blight” on the online scene, not my description either, that’s from a hardcore MMO and Star Wars friend of mine. Despite critical acclaim, players complained of flawed hierarchies and uninteresting gameplay, and the game never quite grew into the monster that it could have become.
Taking another swing at the Star Wars franchise is a pretty bold move for Bioware and the publisher, Electronic Arts. Perhaps this new developer/publisher pair can pull a rabbit out of a hat and make hardcore Star Wars fans, hardcore gamers, and newly interested folks sit up and take notice.
Other than confirming the identity of the project, they haven’t really said a whole lot else, which will no doubt lead to rampant speculation and horrendous rumours. Hopefully I can be Princess Leia and maim things with my bronzed bustier of doom, and braids of infinite peril. I’ll have to wait until sometime in 2009 to find out.

This is going to kill Star Wars: Galaxies. Split Star Wars fans between the two MMOs.
