Marky Mark To Feel Payne’s Pain?

by Erin on November 13th, 2007

ImageIn a role with less bootie, and more butt-kicking than some of his other acting credits, Mark Wahlberg has his sights set on playing Max Payne in a big screen adaptation of the Rockstar Games series by the same name.

Written by Beau Thorne and directed by “Behind Enemy Lines” headman John Moore, the Max Payne movie will allow us to see his struggles against the forces of violence and corruption on the glorious silver screen. While Wahlberg may have a talent for playing the eternally tormented tragic good guy, thus making for a tiny glimmer of hope, I think this is all an excuse for Twentieth Century Fox to make things go boom under the pretense of exploring the human condition. Guns. Me like guns. Payne. Me Like Payne.

So really what we have here is an numbing combination of so-old-why-can’t-they-just-die cop dramas and please-no-more-my-senses-are-bleeding video game adaptations. And they think this is a good idea WHY?? Mark, my suggestion would be to get back with your Funky Bunch for a reunion tour because that, frighteningly, has a better chance of success.
