New Line Cinema Using X-rated Video Game to Promote Film

New Line Cinema is the company behind the film “Running Scared” which at its main website is now featuring a Shockwave video game that contains bloody shootings and graphic sex scenes. All of this in the name of smart marketing.
And so far it’s working. The website is getting upwards of 60,000 unique visitors per day.
There are two versions of the game, the first which I imagine is (relatively) okay for the kiddies, and then there’s the “mature version” which sends you off to fill out a form stating you’re at least 17 years old.
When a film has to result to this kind of promotion, it’s probably because it’s total crapola.
