No Longer Babies: The Consoles At Six Months
Six months is a long enough time to allow the mad rush of buying at the launch of a new console to settle down, to tally the number of units that have crossed the counter, and reflect on the historical trends of systems gone by. Infendo, using the April retail report from the NPD Group, charted the sales totals over the first six months for both current-gen and last-gen consoles.
Not surprisingly, considering Nintendo’s current status of market rule, the Wii came out on top, besting even the strong early performance of the PS2. Sony and Microsoft, unfortunately, can’t share in Nintendo’s smiles with both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 behind the half year sales growth of the GameCube, one of the most curiously vilified systems of all time.

Interesting. It’s like the more expensive they are and the less they sell; if I remember correctly, PS2 and Xbox were arouns $300 at launch? which places the Wii a little below.
