Old School Gaming’s “Proudest” Moments

We’ve all experienced them, those life-changing moments during gameplay that strike like the most philosophical of epiphanies. The realization perhaps, that not all dialogue must suffer from the vapidity and meaninglessness of “someone set up us the bomb“. I mean really, who cares about knowing the source of a ship rending explosion when other games impart such useful information as “I Am A Farmer”, or one of the less disturbing (Destroy…destroy…DESTROY!) FFVI shots from sonofasubmariner.com that declares: “Ahem… there’s SAND on my boots.” Gee, I feel for ya man, I hate it when that happens.

If broader sweeping outlooks relating to fruit are more up your alley, be sure to ascribe to Samurai Shodown’s principle that “life is a stewed peach in a lot of syrup”. Wisdom abounds over at a hilarious forum thread on the Something Awful site. Sadly, it was as much a trip down memory lane as it was an opportunity to laugh at some of gaming’s more mundane moments.
