One Million Users for Nintendo Wi-Fi

Nintendo announced that its wi-fi service has logged its one millionth unique visitor. Its one millionth player to log in was from Japan and was playing Animal Crossing: Wild World. I wonder if he got anything cool when he logged in? Like virtual balloons flying on his screen with the words “One Millionth Player” flashing in neon, and an animal announcer hopping over to ask, “How does it feel to be Nintendo’s One Millionth Wi-Fi Unique Visitor?”
“Players are embracing our model of a compelling, safe, easy-to-use wireless gaming service,” says Nintendo of America executive VP of sales and marketing Reggie Fils-Aime,. “Those 1 million users represent more than 27 million game sessions.”
To date, only three games have been released taking advantage of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection: Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land, Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing DS: Wild World. More are on the way, though, with Tetris DS and Metroid Prime: Hunters launching later this month, and Ubisoft jumping on board in April with Lost Magic.
Not bad for only three games.
