Poll - Worst Launch Award Goes To…?

by Erin on December 3rd, 2006

Now that all three of the big next-generation systems have been unleashed upon the gaming public, and initial impressions are now giving way to a more careful examination of the PS3 and Wii consoles, we here at Play-Girlz are curious to know which console you feel ranked last in the ’success of launch’ scale.

Yes we know, all of the consoles were subject to shortages upon release, and yes we know, all have had their bugs in the early going, but which launch was so disappointing, so disillusioning, or so poorly executed that you were left shaking your head?

Submit your answer in the poll found in the yellow menu on the right hand side of the page and let us know! Feel free to explain yourself in the comment section of this here post.

I am excited about X-Box 360 and P3. I think I would rather play with an ice cube and three threads of lint before making a happy face for the Wii.

since i used to work at best buy and i was around to see the sales of the launches of all three systems i can fairly say as far as marketing the PS3 has the worst launch ever. of any system i might add. it offered questionable launch games, an overexpensive price tag that sony is still trying to recover from. and from my experience with mine. i would say flawed technology that is prone to malfunctions beyond a retarded standpoint. (my bluetooth controler barely works to play games, and my dvd movies blink constantly) as for the best sales i would say the Wii wins on opening day sales. when it came out people flocked at our store for at least 1/2 a mile outside just to get there hands on one. i came down to us giving out tickets just so peeps knew they were getting one. i dont think that happened with even the xbox 360. unfortunately all the new systems have there short comings. none of them lack the old school durability of the super nintendo, or the sega genesis. (in my opinion 2 of the best gaming systems ever made)
