PS2, Eye Toy: Kinetic, and Singstar 80s

by Ingrid on March 12th, 2006

So, last Friday was my birthday and I received (drumroll please) … a brand spanking … new …. PS2! It’s so cute and tiny and silver. I just want to pet it and take it for a walk. And it’s mine, all mine!

With it came Eye Toy: Kinetic, which means I spent part of my birthday jumping around like an idiot trying to “punch” bricks and “kick” balls and curse out the stupid Sims-like instructor who kept telling me to twist this way and that way. And, “You’re too close to the screen!” I kicked her a few times, but she didn’t seem to notice.

It was fun but it’s been three days and I’m. Still. Sore. Obviously, my body isn’t used to doing anything more strenuous than picking up a cup of coffee and bringing it to my lips.

Naturally, the first thing I did after I finished jumping around like an idiot was rush out and get Singstar. This time I invested in the 80’s pack, which is filled with French 80s songs. My goal is to learn every single one of them. There’s even one in Italian and I’m rocking it.

Sort of.

I’m sure the neighbors would disagree on that point.

I’ve also spent some time assuring my Xbox that no, it was nothing it did, and that no, this doesn’t mean that I love the PS2 more. I just love it differently. The PS2 lets me sing along to Madonna. And no matter what anyone says (and I doubt anyone has said this) the Xbox Music Mixer cannot even come close to a Singstar/karaoke equivalent. I know this, because I have it.

For my next trick, I intend to hop on eBay and order Singstar versions from Spain and the UK so I can officially be the smallest freak in captivity.

Erin: next time you and your fiancee visit, you guys know what you’ll be doing. Muahahaha….
