PS3 Boomerang Actually Comfy?

I’ve had this in my backpocket forever, so forgive me if it’s a little rumpled and sad looking, but I meant to post about it ages ago! Remember that my only complaint about the possible boomerang PS3 controller was that it just doesn’t look very ergonomically sound? Well Joystiq had posted a link to a .gif that demonstrates how a controller of similar shape is easily manipulated and not so terribly uncomfortable at all.
After having seen it in action, I have to say that a good deal of my fears are allayed. It looks manageable and not near as cramp-inducing as I thought. Seeing as this is only a random picture though, I’ll reserve full judgement until I can wrap my big mitts around one personally.
What do you all think?

It’s a little misleading really seeing as though the handles come down such a long way. It kind of indicates that that’s where you’re meant to hold it. If that isn’t the case then why make them so big?
It could be for purely functional reasons though, maybe that’s where the shock motors go, or they might have more than two in the pad to vary the way a pad can rumble. Who knows, but the animation did essuage my fears about any ergonomical confrontations it may offer up.

Or it could be because they really wanted it to look like a boomerang…
