PS3 Bugs and Issues

by Ingrid on November 29th, 2006

So while the Wii is breaking muscles and living rooms across America, the PS3 is having its own set of issues.

  • Aeropause reports that PlayStation 3 users are experiencing freezes and bugs with the SixAxis controller.
  • Meanwhile, Arstechnica mourns the fact that the PS3 firmware fixed absolutely nothing.
  • BitBurners talks about the problems the PS3 has with HD TVs.

Xbox 360 fanboys and girls snicker quietly to themselves, naturally, at the misfortune of the Sony fanboys and girls.

Have you been experiencing any issues or problems with any of the “next gen” consoles or are the people complaining in public forums just unfortunate souls?

My ps3 freezes on almost ever game i play, i called the sony tech support line they said my ps3 is overheating and should play it only once every 3 hours and then let it cool off, and if i want to be able to play it continuesly cant spell lol then they sed i need to buy a new cooling fan coming out for the ps3, the ps3 is a disapointment because i thought it was going to kick some xbox ass, lol, but now the 360 is seaming a lil funner to me!!

I’m having problems with my wireless sixaxis controller in that sometimes it stops working while playing and sometimes it randomly signals to use the triangle button, both cause difficulties like when I’m racing and the controller freezes but the game keeps going and I crash into a wall:| or it changes camera angles out of nowhere

I don’t think you want to get a 360. Mine had the red lights problem just a year after i got it. If your looking for a good system get the Wii.

I have only ever had one problem with my ps3 and that was it froze when i was playing warhawk but that was due to my slow 64/64 capped internet connection

I was playing Call of Duty 4 last night and my system shut right down. I had to go reset the on/off switch before it would turn back on and even then I couldn’t use the controller to turn it on.

The HDD in mine is screwing up a lot. I played assassin’s creed and it gave me error messages like “load error”, and “save error”. I went to play guitar hero 3 after that and it gave me an error message saying my data was corrupt…..so…yeah. I’m screwed XP

I’ve had mine for just over a week now, no real issues playing CoD4, Lair, Assassins Creed and Rock Band. The only thing I’ve had is pauses or lapses where it takes a litle longer to load, other than that, one freeze while Assassins Creed was loading and I used eagle vision, “Memory Loading” was stuck at the side of my screen and it kept on going in and out of eagle vision, lol

i really want a ps3, but my brother wants to get one first so he is being a **** cheese about it and saying i shouldn’t get one, i really want to get one first now for revenge cause he’ll be angry etc, so the ps3 is fine it just has some probs with heavy graphics like the 360 which was destroyed with error and bugs, i just have a Wii and its been the greatest console to me never screws up and always works fine in any situation :D should i get a ps3 also cause i want a bit of Hi Def with gameplay

Oh yeah definitely get a PS3. All those rumors you’ve heard about it freezing are caused by that damned information board. So in other words there is nothing wrong with Assassins creed!

my controler is acting really stupid for my ps3, first if i want to play most of my games i have to plug it in first, then i can only unplug it when im in the middle of my games. and that now doesnt always work

people, to be realistic all the 3 consoles are fucked, first I got a nintendo wii, and after 2 months, the games start to artifacting (some shitty graphics in games with fog) and the reason was because the graphic chip was toasted for overheating, later i got a PS3 last december, and now it starts to freeze EVERY time i play a game (with all games), or just listening music and thats happens after only 5-20 minutes of being turned on, I have already formated the console, turned off the information board and uploaded to 2.10 version and the PS3 is still freezing. And 110% of the xbox 360 have defects so….. Next generation consoles are crap!

I feel for all the playstation hating happenin around here. Everytime I play A-Creed my system freezes like a freak! After playing a multiplayer game from The Club it froze again. I havta bring it to the store I bought it from and have it fixed for almost 3 weeks long! Its such a bummer. Please tell me how to arrest this problem!! PS3 has the potential to make it well in the market; just let Sony fix these problems!
