PS3 E-Distribution Paints Xbox 360 As Soooo Last Year
Sony’s E-Distribution Initiative will be launching alongside the PS3 come November (17th), granting developers the ability to distribute their games right into the homes of anxious players.
But will the E-Distribution include Xbox 360 titles? Of course not, sillies. The Xbox 360 is apparently retro now. The PS3 is the true face of the gaming future. So advanced that it puts the Xbox 360 to shame.
In an interview with Gamasutra, John Hight (Director of External Production at SCEA Santa Monica) said, “We’re looking for fresh, new ideas that fully exploit the power of PlayStation 3. Our 1st party projects are all unique to PS3. Some of our games, by virtue of their design and hardware demands, simply couldn’t work on Xbox 360.”
The PS3 is so advanced that it will even do your cooking, homework, and laundry for you. It also speaks Latin.
Hight added that, “…being able to sell globally on-line makes it easier to reach international and remote markets. On the business side, it also lowers our cost of sales and eliminates inventory risk. It should help curtail used game sales and piracy.”
Yes, those pesky used games. Gotta hate ‘em.
