PS3 Price Cut: Now $410 in Japan

Sony Corporation has announced a price cut for its yet to be released console, PlayStation 3 - much to the disappointment and chagrin of Microsoft, I imagine. The basic PS3 model will go from 59,800 yen ($515) down to 47,600 ($410).
SCE President Ken Kutaragi revealed that the price cut was due to consumer complaints that the console was too expensive. Heh. Let’s keep those complaints coming!
The price cut is for Japan only, and according to Sony spokeswoman Nanako Kato there’s no plans to lower prices in the rest of the world. In other words, “Nana nana boo boo.”
Release date in the US is still set for November 17th. The Japanese, because they’re cooler than us, will get it November 11th. Cheaper.
Japan FTW.
