Resistance: Fall of Man Set For Updates

FPS junkies have something to look forward to on the PS3. Insomniac Games and Sony have announced that there will be two updates to Resistance: Fall of Man. The popular shooter, which sees US and British forces team up against a viral horde of nasty hybrids in an alternative historical timeline, will get a bit of a facelift to encourage continued play amongst addicted fans, and hopefully foster a renewed sales drive, garnering new gamers into the fold.
Two new online modes, team conversion and assault, will be introduced, and will see players scrap as both human and chimera in the same go (new team conversion) and conduct a siege on enemy bases (assault). A spectator camera has also been added, so that the voyeurs among us can watch the battles without getting our hand dirty. Look for these to be available for the March 23rd PS3 launch in Europe and Australia.
Additional multiplayer maps will also be added to the mix, with one set in the northern wilds of Westmorland, England and the other in Camborn, England. Expect snowy, underground, and surface battles. Community tools improvements like leaderboards options will be available, along with the maps, sometime in May.
