  Your sim should be able to be a hardcore criminal. You know not just stealing things like I think they can do, but drive-bys…contract killings…things like that. You could be your very own little Sim-mob-boss. That’d be great.

  Hi Julie,

  Is it the expansion pack? If so, I think you need to add the first disc of the original Sims for it to work. It’s done that to me whenever I’ve tried to install expansions.

  Hm, I’m not sure what the problem may be. :( I did a few google searches, and couldn’t find anything that directly solved your problem, but I came across this site:

  They might be able to solve your problem.

  You don’t need the original Sims to play Sims 2. So, no.

  Hehe *doesn’t like the sims* What you could try is making an iso/mirror of the CD, then use Daemon Tools to mount it.. Somehow the computer has an easier task to figure out the CD if it has all the files in a nice little iso :) (don’t hate me if it doesn’t work :P)

  OK GIRLS–I have found the answer
  I called EA tech support, and I’m upset!! It turns out we didn’t even have to buy the Holiday edition game, we could have just simply went online and downloaded the Party pack for 19.99 on the Sims 2 website!!!
  I feel like screaming, because now, we have to uninstall Sims 2, and all expansions just to download the Holiday edition. The SIMS 2 holiday edition is for those who never had the 1st Sims 2. So this edition is merely what we already have but with “party pack extras”. So now I have to copy my Sims 2 folder to the desktop (just so I can keep my downloaded items, houses, etc), then uninstall all the games, re-install Holiday edition, University, and Nightlife, just to get a freakin’ party pack of 40 or so items!!!!! Can you tell I’m angry??? But that’s what you all have to do.

  Do you have the game? If you have Sims 2 Holiday edition. You have to run back to the store and return it, if you have The sims 2 from before that is. If you don’t have it, you go to http://thesims2.ea.com/about/holidaypp_index.php And download it from there, and just install it as a normal game :)

  so you installed the party pack? Then you should be okay. Like Rachel said you just need to use the Sims 2 disk. I’m not sure how you access the “christmas” content, and that seems to be an issue for everyone else.

  hey you guys here are some hints:
  * to get santa to come
  - build up your sims cooking skill to 3 or 4 bars then click on serve desert on the fridge and cookies should appear. if you have cookies, the tree and a fireplace santa will come.
  * sadly i dont know how to serve turkey dinner either

  I have the holiday edition of SIMS 2, and I’m having a problem. My sim has seven cooking skill bars and still when I click on the refigerator and then click desserts it just says make Gelatin! Arg! I read somewhere that if you have seven bars you can make a holiday roast, but that was on a UK site so it might just be for their version of the game… which makes absolutely no sense to me at all. Anyway, I just want to know how to make this Santa thing work otherwise I wasted too much money.

  i think for those of u who cannot install it- make sure you have the sims 2 holiday expansion pack and not the sims 2 holiday party pack i think its called. in england here, ours is called the sims 2 christmas expansion pack. also, jeanne, make sure ure rtying to cook it in the day around afternoon becuz sometimes it doesnt work in the morning. hope i helped lol :) happy christmas to all!

  Hey! All you who have a problem with playing sims2 holiday expansion pack or whatever its called, its very simple - just play the sims2 as normal (Put in the most recent expansion disk.)
  For me thats nightlife, so i just put in disk 1 of that and click the icon and hey presto!
  Since the holiday expansion is just an add on, not a proper expansion, you won’t actully see the icon or anything like with university and nightlife.

  Im pretty good with installing games/add ons/expansions but i have a problem with this Holiday Edition.I tried to install it on 2 different machines,the game launches and all but i don’t see anything new.I even tried installing Just the Party Pack,still got nothing.Would i have to wait for a holiday to be near to use the new items or is there problems?

  Well its not that easy if you have a boy or a girl thats been nice not naught then on christmas eve around a minute after midnight santa will come by and for cookies well youll have to buy or get them some how and insted of clening up the cookies after ur player has eaten them make him drop the cookies infront of the x-mas tree and with the combonation of my pervious tip on how to get santa. snata will come and eat ur cookies!

  To make a Christmas dinner, you’ll need the Cornucopia (decorative) in your kitchen, high cooking skills ( 8 bars I think [not sure]) then click on the fridge and it should appear. =)

  i just got the sim2hoiliday edition and i tried installing it..okay i have four disks..the first one installs and then it asks to insert the second disk but then does nothing else..ive waited and waited..it left off at 23% on the first disk and it just stays there…helpp..im going nutz..

  Later on when my PC was going slow i uninstall
  the Sims 2.Than mounths later my older sister clean it out for me than i reinstall the sims 2

  edition pack-something that does not require the first cd because it is the first cd just with more stuff on it for example the sims 2 holiday EDITION

  expansion pack- It EXPANDS the variety of stuff u can do so it needs the first cd. For example the Sims2 Pets EXPANSION

  uhm.. yeah. you cant do drive-bys and shit like that. but you can have kids and shit.. and your person actually looks pregnet. you can get bugs in your house if you dont clean it, you can die in a fire.. and your people grow up with the time you spend playing the game.
  its a great game to have.

  The sims2 should have more thing that we have like amusement parks, movie theaters, shopping malls, some people have appartments, baby strollers, car seats, the litle ones should be able to go places, there could be floaties for the pool, and there should be girl/boy scouts, debutant, the teenagers can have a job as a baby sitter and you can go to the baby’s house with the teenage, the teenages can have car wash fund raisers, there should be a daycare, more job offers, and you should be able to have a really small planet instead of a neighborhood, and thier could be different cultures, you can go on a boat or plane with your sim, and the babies can have pretty clothes. Those are great ideas.

  a while ago my computer was really slow so i uninstalled sims2 holiday edition. now my computer is much faster and i want to reinstall it but when it tells me error with ‘TSData\Res]Sims3D\Sims08.package’ it tells me i can retry to i do but it still tells me the same thing every single time i try to reinstall it. and this is making crazy because i love playing sims.

  Santa comes when you have a tree set up and you need to make cookies as well, then at about midnight santa will visit. your sims dont need to be asleep.
