Single-Threaded Xbox 360 Launch Games?
According to a rumor source at GameSpot, all the new launch games for the Xbox 360 are going to be single-threaded. Apparently, the developers - in a rush to get the games out by the launch date - have turned to shortcuts for getting things done.
I find this highly unlikely, in terms of all 360 titles, since it’s already been confirmed that titles like Call of Duty 2 will be running on multiple-threads. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the rumor applied to some of the titles. Even if it did, though, it would hardly be the end of the world for Microsoft. People will still buy the 360, and it only means that the games can only get better from launch day on (as they always do).
But if this is the sort of thing that might have you hesitating on launch day, perhaps it’s best to wait and see.
