Sudoku
This morning, as I pondered what fun and exciting things to procrastinate with (WoW, BloodRayne, dancing around in my underwear while singing 80s songs…), I found myself searching the Internets for free Sudoku puzzles. I’d been wanting to try my hand at one for a while now, since they are everywhere, taunting me, yelling, “You can’t do me!” every time I pass them at the bookstores. I’ve bitchslapped quite a few of them, but never got around to actually solving one.
This morning, I decided it was time. I was armed and ready with the necessary implements of intellectual destruction: a pencil and coffee.
I found a great site with free puzzles and printed out the first one on the page. I then spent a good while muttering to myself. Aloud.
Can’t be 2 … can’t be 3 … can’t be 4 …
…. could be 8 … can’t be 9 …
Until finally.
Finally.
All the squares were filled.
I popped them into the online version, and hit “How am I doing?” and lo and behold, it said, “Congratulations! You solved the Sudoku in 59 minutes, 54 seconds!” I thought, “I ROCK! I am a MASTERMIND!”
Then, all cocky and full of myself, I clicked on, “How good is my time?”
And a graph shattered my ego.
Average time: 7 minutes, 4 seconds
WTF?!
7 minutes??
GAH.
Just for that, I’m gonna try one in level “Evil”, and see what happens.
*mumbles*
