They Hate Me, They Really Hate Me

Yes, this is all about me.

I went and purchased CoV on Saturday, along with the pre-order pack so I could get into the action early. It worked fine, I got to play (eventually, after having to recreate my character cause I ended up on the German server by mistake). Woo! Then comes retail time, and I realize: Whoops, I have a Europe code. It won’t combine with my CoH US retail account. My friends are all in North America. Crappola!

I send many support-requesting emails to NCSoft. One gets sent back as undeliverable. Why? Because they hate me. Then they tell me, “No no, you have to submit a ticket by joining this website and blah blah.” Fine. I do that. I sign up, I send the problem ticket. It goes through. They write back to say “We’ve forwarded your problem to so and so, you’ll be contacted within 24 hours.” Fine. I get that they’re busy.

Next day, I get a reply, “We’ve received your issue and are now forwarding it to the European so-and-so. Expect an answer within 24 hours.” Gah! By that point, I’ve checked out every forum and information center these people have available and concluded that when they get back to me, what they’re going to say is basically, “You need a US key.”

I’ve yet to receive a reply.

So today, I went ahead and purchased a key from the website (thanks, Jeremy, for the motivation - i.e. “I’m already lvl 10″- and also the US client). So I got the US key, added it to my CoH account, and success.

I get in, I’m all excited. I go about creating my character - again - and I’m about to hit “enter the Rogue Islands” when the server loses connection. WTF?? And now? All the servers are down.

Gah!

This is God’s way of telling me to go play more Scratches.
