Through the Dark Portal…
I’ve made it! I have been through the Dark Portal (and it felt rather tingly).
So what lies beyond the Dark Portal?
1. Many many other players
2. Lag
3. New quests!
4. Lag
5. New things to kill!
6. Server crashes
7. New areas to explore!
8. No, really, laaaaaag
9. Master trainers for all professions!
10. Mucho, mucho lag
Since I’m in France and play on a US server, there’s not a lot of lag during the day because most sane people are at work/school/sleeping. Last night, however, I was trying to play around midnight (my time) and it was unbearable. The Outland server kept crashing, booting me (and everyone in it) out of the game, and then landing me somewhere else entirely. I eventually gave up and went to bed.
It was too bad because I’d met up with Matt and we were going to do some questing together. Alas, it was not to be.
None of this is surprising, of course. I was there on WoW launch day, and it was all the same thing. A billion people camping the same stuff, everything dead, lag, lag, lag.
This is why I rolled my Blood Elves on a different (and new!) server. Much peace. No lag.
Still, I do want my mage to get to 70 sometime before the next expansion. So I will venture back to Outland and try again.
I’ll be back with screencaps and photo-evidence of Belfs, Silvermoon City (which is, I think, the most beautiful place in the world … of warcraft), and The Exodar (which is also pretty damn spiffy).

Really a pity too because the next zone was much better. Still had its’ lag but it was atleast playable and it was much nicer over there.

Wandered over there earlier. It’s gorgeous. I left Aelora there for the moment. I’m leveling up Thrynn’s herbalism again. It was driving me crazy that I couldn’t farm plants with both of them lol.
Elune, btw, is having serious issues at the moment. I thought Elwynn Forest would be free of lag and crashes but it’s quite broken. I can’t even loot a stupid Gray Forest Wolf.
