Top 10 Indie Games from GameTunnel.com
If there’s one kind of end of the year list that I do enjoy, it’s any that deal with independent games. Let’s face it, gamers aren’t always on the ball and ahead of the curve on what’s hip, hot, and happening in the indie scene. How better then to explore some of the new (and free, did we mention free?) titles from the year past to browse the New Year’s offerings of major indie sites like GameTunnel.com. They’ve posted their Top 10 for 2007 and on it resides a dizzying array of different game styles, from the uber-popular music sim to the ever adventurous adventure genre. All include a description of the game and an easy click-to-download opportunity to try them at your leisure.
This year’s top game? Aquaria. Not a complete surprise and I’m actually happy that it got the nod. It’s artistic, immersive and just plain fun.

My other favourite is #3: Venture Arctic, which is kind of like an ecology experiment with the potential to go horribly awry. If you like sims with a different spin, definitely check this one out. It’s even, dare I say it, a little educational.
