Trifecta of Evil: 3 New Movies From Uwe Boll
Sometimes I wish I ran a spoof blog where I could make up torturous titles and generally nauseate my audience with fake game news. Alas, I don’t, and the title to this post is 100% accurate.
Easily the most reviled movie director in the gaming industry for heading up such disasters as Blood Rayne and Alone In The Dark, Boll has somehow managed to convince Freestyle Releasing that it would be a good idea to ink him to a three movie deal. Not so bad, you say, as surely Boll will steer clear of video game based movies…
Let’s have a look at the titles of his new projects shall we?
- In The Name Of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale
- Postal
- Seed
Rarely have I been so petrified of a movie as I am of Boll’s interpretation of Dungeon Siege. Even the high octane cast, which includes the likes of Jason Statham of The Transporter fame, Ray Liotta, Leelee Sobieski and John Rhys-Davies, can’t ease the impending grip of indigestion. I said ‘rarely’ have I been so petrified only because the second movie, Postal, frightens me even more. Why? Boll himself will step out from behind the camera in this film and try is acting pants on for size. Good grief.

When a friend I and first saw the trailer for dungeon siege we thought it was fake. We both thought it was gonna be one of those ads where they tell you to turn off your cell phone in the movie theatre. We were laughing so hard. And then it was REAL. Tears were streaming down our face we were laughing so hard. Neither of us could believe it. I really can’t blame the man for liking games and wanting to make movies out of them, it’s the game companies that decide to give him the rights to do it that really piss me off. They have every opportunity to say no, and they still let him. It’s them you should hate.
