Trilogy To Combine FPS and RPG?

A new indie games developer called Trilogy Studios just may be the one to finally offer some truly original game ideas, according to rumours that have the studio creating a FPS-RPG combination that will “transform the genre”.
Launched by former Vivendi Universal executive vice president Michael Pole, and former Electronic Arts Los Angeles executives Rick Giolito and Mark Skaggs, Trilogy certainly has the experience and solid reputation to pull of such an ambitious claim. They’ve already got titles on their resume that include Medal of Honor (fan-girly squeal!), Command & Conquer, The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth, and No One Lives Forever, so any doubts of their abilities to bring quality games into the market should be non-existent.
Trilogy’s management structure will see Giolito as president and lead production; Skaggs will headman development as COO and director of development; and Pole will be the businessman as CEO. They plan on developing games for PC and next-gen platforms, building on Unreal game technology. Says Skaggs:
We’ve learned a lot from the past, and my focus is to build a great team and a AAA development process based on the cornerstones of creativity and product quality.
Creativity and quality? Well won’t that be a nice change! Updates on the hybrid game will come your way as they’re made available. I’m dreadfully curious about the melding of two of my favourite genres, and trust that Trilogy won’t make a horrible mess of it.
