Xbox 360 Arcade Gets Cheaper in Japan

Ah, do you smell that? It’s the sweet scent of Microsoft’s desperation. In an attempt to keep the dream alive (the dream of the Xbox 360’s success in Japan, that is), Microsoft has decided to release the Xbox 360 Arcade at a reduced price of 27,800 yen ($260 or thereabouts). And why not? I guess their mentality is that since it’s only just a tad bit more expensive than the Wii the Japanese people might hesitate a tad between the two products - before ultimately going with the Wii. I think at this point they’re going to have to start handing out Xbox 360s.
Good luck, Microsoft. It’s nice to see that they’re at least optimistic.
