XBox 360 Backwards Compatibility List

Anyone worried that their favourite XBox game may not be playable on their new 360 should head on over to XBox.com and look for it on the newly minted backwards compatibility list. If, heaven forbid, your prized title isn’t there please don’t panic the XBox crew is still working to make more games fully playable.
Don’t think though, that you can just load up your XBox 180 game and be ready to go. You’ll have to get an emulator first to allow you to play any of your old games. Hardly an imposition for the added functionality. Yay!

While backwards compatibilty is indeed great news, as a casual gamer I lament the fact that it’s through DLing and installing emulators. The reason I like game consoles is because they make it easy and simple (and fast!) to play games.
If I have to go through the trouble of DLing and installing stuff, I’ll just as well play on my computer, instead of shelling out the odd $400.

I’m sure they’ve come up with a nice, easy way for people to do the emulation. I do agree that it’s still a pain in the butt. Good luck to people with no clue how do do these kinds of things.

Now, they just need to come up with a way for those people with a modded x-box to transfer all their illegally downloaded games to the 360 harddrive.
