Xbox 360 Classics Confirmed

by Ingrid on September 19th, 2006

Microsoft has confirmed rumors of Xbox 360 Classics. In fact, they’ve gone a step further and given the release date for the first batch of Classics: October 13th.

This first batch includes:

  • Perfect Dark Zero
  • Kameo: Elements of Power
  • Condemned: Criminal Origins
  • Peter Jackson’s King Kong

“The Xbox 360 Classics programme allows new gamers to always have access to the greatest games at a great price,” said EMEA director of marketing and platform Richard Teversham. “Xbox 360 will have a ten million unit head start by the end of 2006 and there will be plenty of new console owners eager to jump in to the best-selling Xbox 360 games.”

You can expect these games to be priced somewhere around GBP 24.99 ($47). Wouldn’t be surprised if it was more around $49.99 though.

Expect a new batch to hit shelves next Spring. Game titles for the second one not yet announced.

I would love to get my hands on a copy Peter Jackson’s Hong Kong. They say it is like Mortal Combat in the Jackson Universe. The cast of Dead Alive vs Gollum. Priceless

Classics? Wtf are they smoking. The system hasn’t even been out a year and they’ve already decided that there are “classic” games. What a lame marketing campaign on their part. Instead of just lowering the price on the “older” games like everyone else they decide to make it a big deal and lower the price by only 10 bucks. I’m hardly impressed. Drop the game price in half to $30 and then maybe I’d be interested.
