You’re Banned! Merry Christmas From Blizzard

Wow, those folks at Blizzard Entertainment sure do have an ironic sense of timing, or a very well tuned one depending on how you look at it.
For Christmas this year they’ve played a bit of a grinch, taking rather than giving, by suspending over 18, 000 user accounts over the last few months. These naughty girls and boys were found to be breaking the game’s Terms of Use with violations such as gold farming, or selling WoW items and riches on eBay for real profit.
On the other hand, banishing cheaters can be looked upon as rewarding clean gamers. In essence Blizzard has given all the honest folk of Azeroth by giving them a gaming environment with reduced incidences of cheating, spamming and other unpleasantness. Like Santa, Blizzard has made a list, checked it twice, and proceeded to doll out liberal sized lumps of coal to those who deserve them.
